As a primary care provider, a physiotherapist can assess, diagnose, and treat your injury through a combination of methods that may include: manual therapy; acupuncture; modalities such as heat, laser, and ultrasound, and/or exercise prescription. Education plays an important role in physiotherapy. The goal of physiotherapy is to return you to your optimal function, strength and activities, while addressing pain and reducing risk of future injury.

Caroline is a thorough and personable physiotherapist with over 10 years of experience. She is certified in IMS needling as well as acupuncture. She has helped recreational to elite athletes of all ages return to excel at their favourite sports, but has a particular interest in working with runners. Caroline’s primary area of continuing education for the past 7 years has been in the area of running injuries, as there are many particular considerations when working with these athletes. Tendon pathologies, bone stress injuries, and running performance goals are all common cases in her daily work.

Other special interest areas in which she has pursued advanced training include TMJ (jaw) dysfunction, shoulder and neck pain, and hip and back pain. Caroline continues to study new and emergent research related to sports injuries and chronic or recurring injuries.

To ensure an optimal starting point to your injury recovery and thorough re-evaluation and progressions, at this location Caroline sees patients for 40 or 60 minutes, always in one-on-one appointments. She sends personalized exercise programs so that you have pictures and details about what to work on between sessions, and addresses any questions you have about your diagnosis or treatment plan. Caroline maintains strong relationships with referral sources in Calgary; should you need further investigations or other providers involved in your recovery, she will connect you to excellent providers to compliment your physiotherapy program.

Caroline completed undergraduate studies in Victoria and Fredericton before completing her Master of Physiotherapy degree at Western University in London, Ontario in 2013.

Caroline is an avid distance runner, and loves cross-country skiing and mountain biking. In her youth, Caroline was involved in competitive swimming, cross country running, horseback riding, and music. She continues musical endeavors and ventures into new sports regularly.
